Steve Whitteberry, NuVescor Managing Director, with more than twenty years of financial and business advisory experience, brings a level of experience and competency to transactional work that greatly benefits the clients he serves. Consistently a top dealmaker, he has been active in facilitating and integrating mergers and acquisitions throughout his career and has completed many transactions with both domestic and internationally based companies.
Mr. Whitteberry’s previous experience includes the wholesale, distribution, and manufacturing industries. In his 14 year career with Gordon Food Service, Inc., the largest privately held foodservice distributor in North America, he held various financial positions including the last five years serving as Chief Financial Officer. During his tenure at GFS, he facilitated the acquisition of six companies, directed the 100-person finance/accounting team, and was responsible for all aspects of the financial operations and reporting.
Prior to his career at GFS, Mr. Whitteberry spent seven years as an auditor and financial consultant with the international public accounting firms of KPMG and BDO Seidman. Mr. Whitteberry is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the Association for Corporate Growth, Financial Executives International, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Whitteberry serves on the board of two non-profit organizations and has guest-lectured at Grand Valley State University and several industry associations.
Mr. Whitteberry is an avid runner. He and his wife, Diane, reside in Jenison, Michigan. They enjoy traveling, soccer, and other activities with their five children.
